The School

Play · Listen · Learn
01
Music is not a competition. It's a conversation.
The School of Jazz is a charity initiative teaching children to listen, feel time, find their own voice on an instrument, and play with one another.
We are not trying to raise virtuosos. We are trying to raise musicians: children who can take a risk, hear the band around them, carry on after a wrong note, and keep music in their lives for decades.
Our work begins with joy, but it does not stop there. Jazz asks children to notice one another: to make room, to answer, to lead for a moment and then hand the music back. A rehearsal becomes a small lesson in confidence, patience, memory, rhythm, and trust.
We teach through songs with deep roots, generous repetition, and daily contact with the instrument. Five honest minutes can matter. Ten can change the week. What matters most is the habit of returning: instrument out, ears open, record playing, one small thing better than yesterday.
The goal is a person still playing music at forty.
